The Mazowe community hailed the former Energy Minister and Mazowe South legislator Fortune Chasi for fostering infrastructural development.

Among others, Chasi assisted the community in  drilling boreholes, building dip tanks, school infrastructure, churches, donating laptops as well as building materials and paying school fees for all students at 18 different schools.

One Mazowe resident from Ward 13 Sarudzai Hunda applauded Chasi for the kind gesture as they had challenges in accessing some of the infrastructure.

"In our ward, VaChasi helped us complete dip tanks, St. Albans Primary school learning blocks and Secondary school lab block and others," Hunda said.

"He also donated laptops to various secondary and primary schools and donated 2 tonnes of cement and paints to both AFM and Salvation Army churches, the list is endless," she added.

Another villager from  ward 14 Evans Sado said the MP extended the same gesture in their ward.

"During the COVID-19 lockdown things were very tough and it was not easy for some of us to get money, but when Chasi intervened he paid schools fees for all students at Limbeck and Foothills primary  schools as well as donating laptops and building materials and many more," said Sado

Chasi also donated a submissable pump at Sachel farm in Viva District of Ward 14.

He also went on to pay school fees for all students at schools in wards 16, 17, 33, 18, 19, 20, 22 as well as donating 10 bags of cement to ZANU-PF Shawarunzi District.

Speaking to this publication Chasi said he is not pushed into donating by politics but follows his heart.

"I do not do things because I want to be an MP, I do things dictated by my  heart. I started working for mazowe well before I ever contemplated political office. I probably will continue to do so even after,Chasi concluded.
