ZANU PF Secretary for Administration's Obert Mpofu's book has received endorsements from senior Seniior ZANU PF and government officials.

The biography titled On the Shoulders of the struggle is a discursive recast of the commemorative and official representation of the fathers of the nation like Robert Mugabe and Joshua Nkomo - to whom the author was a lifetime political apprentice.

Secretary for Information Nick Mangwana described the biography as an interesting read. Posting on his twitter handle Nick Mangwana said "This book by  Dr Obert Mpofu is an interesting holiday read. On page 219, it says, during GNU, there was no fiscal discipline, there were unsustainable deficits and escalating domestic debt. These are the things reined in by the current Dispensation."

In an exclusive interview with this reporter, Business mogul and ZANU PF Mash West political maverick Philip Chiyangwa said  "I am not an avid follower of philosophical content, but reading Dr Obert Mpofu's memoir punched hard my untapped love for what I regarded as boring books.  In other words, Dr Mpofu unpacks those rarely accessible themes of our political, legal, and identity intersectional realities in a way that speaks to the heart and mind of anyone who grabs a copy of his book.

"Of course others have written from vanaNyagumbo nanaTekere asi Mdhara Mpofu sets a new academic flair to the making of history in Zimbabwe. Achinja game. I hope this triggers many of his contemporaries to write as well. As one following in the footsteps of Mpofu and those in his league in our national memory, I am already encouraged to start writing my own story. Through this book, Mpofu has deconstructed the whole myth about the nationalist movement being unable to challenge ideas furthered by colonialists. His refreshing challenge to the one-size/straight jacket dictate of democracy by Western power is mind-opening."

Other bigwigs who have endorsed the biography include Minister of Justice Ziyambi Ziyambi, Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba and Minister of Education Ambassador Cain Mathema.
