Secretary for Information Ndabaningi Nick Mangwana says two male returnees who were locked inside a quarantine centre escaped and went to their homesteads and infected their family members with the deadly Coronavirus.

The positive cases were discovered when the Coronavirus team went to their homesteads.

Said Mangwana, "Wiseman Ngwenya and Morgan Ngwenya absconded from Beitbridge Qurantine Centre and went home to Madaulo Village in Ward 1. Yesterday tests were done on their family members. 7 out 18 family members tested positive. These are children below 10 years save for one who is 15 years."

There has been an increase of Coronavirus quarantine escapees in the country especially from deported criminals from South Africa.
