Economic Freedom Fighters Commissar Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has called upon the government of President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa to introduce a total shutdown in South Africa to combat the deadly Coronavirus.

Said Ndlozi, "You cannot call for schools to close and leave everything else open- it will be futile. SA MUST SHUTDOWN and all workers must get 3 months payment holiday - feeding schemes must deliver food to children at home - all businesses that close must get payment holiday from rent/bonds."

Meanwhile, Ramaphosa has told South Africans that his government is coming up with an economic recovery plan that will leave no one behind.

Speaking on Wednesday evening, Ramaphosa said, "There will be more focus on spaza shops and there is a loan scheme to help businesses. There is a massive job creation process being worked on.

"We will also focus on the rural economy, especially commercial viability of various enterprises in the area. Agriculture and agro-processing are also the focus our plan. We will bring black people into the commercial side of agriculture because it has a great potential to create jobs. We want our people to get involved in various activities of the agriculture sector."
